据《缅甸时报》报道，缅甸商务部贸易司12月7日发布声明称，受邻国中国的非洲猪瘟(ASF)不良影响，暂停进口生猪、冻猪肉和冻猪肉干。同时缅甸政府正在通过木塞边境口岸遏制猪肉非法贸易。
在缅甸，由于猪肉价格较高，猪肉消费量通常低于鱼类或禽类，近年来缅甸人民对猪肉的需求持续增加。
