Piaui州农业和畜牧业防疫局已确认本州暴发了首例典型猪瘟（CSF），本次疫情发生在一个大型养猪场，发现了有13只易感猪只，其中7头小猪死亡，还有部分虚弱、发高烧和后肢部分瘫痪的动物。
疫情暴发后，政府正在采取控制动物运输、对周边地区进行流行病学研究以及扑杀受疫情影响的所有动物等一切必要措施，以阻止CSF的蔓延。
